Kersbrook, Northern + Norton Summit, Central Adelaide Hills
Produced to honour the plight of Maurice O’Shea, Australia’s Great Grandfather of wine who laboured away in a humble tin shed in the Hunter Valley in the 1920’s and 1930’s to create Australia’s finest wines of the age. Many of these now legendary wines were made from these two varieties, producing mid- weighted, savoury styles of wine that lived a lifetime. Hand harvested from neighbouring mountains; the two noble grapes were reunited once again in De Anima ‘Four’
– 20% Pinot Noir from Norton Summit’s cooler central part of the Hills
– 80% Shiraz Kersbrook in the Northern Adelaide Hills (50% destemmed and crushed, 50% fermented as whole berries).”
The wines were vinified separately, matured in old French oak barriques and puncheons. Blending took place at 14 months of age before being bottled at 18 months.
